PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The role of the Assistant Superintendent involves the coordination and administration of the schools' instructional programs to be conducted within the framework of the philosophy and objectives established by Board Policy and consistent with statutes and standards of regulatory agencies and administrative regulations and procedures. The Assistant Superintendent role includes directing and managing the district’s human resource functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: .Master’s degree
.Administrative certification as per Texas Education Agency
.Five years administrative experience in public schools
.Strong working knowledge of all areas of school administration
Special Knowledge/Skills:
.Ability to evaluate programs and analyze data according to federal and state guidelines .Ability to interpret, develop and implement operational procedures, and methods as need for instructional operations of the district
.Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Minimum Experience:
.Three years experience as a classroom teacher
.Three years experience in instructional, leadership roles
.Four or more years experience directly related to human resource functions including administrative experience in management, preferably in a school district |
