PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general supervision of the Lead HVAC Technician, install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, energy management systems, food service and laundry equipment throughout district. Assist the Lead HVAC Technician in maintaining the Central Plant in a condition of operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Texas commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement
- EPA Freon Certification
- Air Conditioning Certificate from an accredited trade school
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Ability to service and repair food service and laundry equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference materials
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spread sheets, databases and word processing
- Knowledge of automation control systems (electrical, electronic and pneumatic)
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems associated with central plant operations
- Ability to use hand and power tools
Experience:
- Five years of commercial and industrial experience in repair and installation of HVAC systems.
