PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Organize and direct HVAC repair maintenance for all district facilities. Assist Director of Maintenance to maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that it may be fully used at all times. Responsible for the operation/repairs of the HVAC Central Plant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
- EPA Freon Certification
- Air Conditioning Certification from trade school
- Must have or able to obtain a valid Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor’s License (within 6 months of the start of employment)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Specific knowledge used in building repair and maintenance including electrical repair, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing
- General knowledge of other crafts used in building repair and maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints
Experience:
- Six years of commercial and industrial experience in HVAC
- Equipment Used:
- Light truck or van, hand and power tools, meters, measuring devices, propane torches, computer and/or laptop.

- Frequent district travel; walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting, and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outdoors and indoors; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, ladders, scaffolding, and around machinery with moving parts. Ability to operate power and hand tools. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to excessive noises.
